What to Expect
If you’d like the treatment room cooler or warmer – just ask. It’s all about you…
For complicated problems in more than one area eg low back, shoulder and headaches all at once it will probably take a bit longer to resolve but:
We will not keep you coming back for treatment if there is no improvement in your symptoms after the 4th visit.
You will only be asked to make follow up appointments one visit at a time. And only with your express agreement.

Initial Overall Assessment
For all pain scenarios whether its low back, neck, headaches, hip or even elbow pain we carry out a full assessment to ensure we are seeing the whole picture, this includes.
1. A history of your complaint – this helps me to pin down the following:
- what could have caused your pain
- what makes it better/worse
- do we need to send you to your GP for further assessment
- does it sound like a mechanical problem that we will be able to help you with
2. Functional Diagnosis – This is all very gentle and includes:
- Structural Assessment to determine such things as pelvic alignment in relation to normal spinal curvature, leg length differences, head tilted to one side
- Range of movement of individual joints
- Muscle and reflex testing to determine the function of the nervous system as it exits the spine and pelvis.
3. A report of findings
After history and assessment we will discuss any problems that I have identified and with your consent we will proceed to….
Treatment
Once a specific problem has been identified using the structural, joint movement and strength diagnosis we aim to correct and stabilise these problems with a gentle Neuro-Impulse.
I essentially use finger tip pressure followed by a quick impulse to bring about a change in your nervous system which we can then re-measure to detect the effect.
This nervous system change allows us to help correct the joint movement, muscle strength and structural problems that were causing your pain or sense of restriction.
If you are in discomfort at any stage of the process always let your chiropractor know.
